The University of Wisconsin-Superior Baseball team traveled to the Chicago area March 27 and 28 to play in two double headers against North Park University and North Central University.

The Yellowjackets finished the weekend 1-3. It was a tough weekend for the ‘Jackets offensively as they had few players bat over .300.

Leading the Yellowjackets this weekend was Mike Labelle (Jr., OF, Thunder Bay, ON). Labelle had five hits on 13 at bats hitting .385 for the weekend.

Sean Cummings, (Sr., 3B, Superior, WI) hit .313 with five hits out of 16 at bats.

Paul Schlangen (Sr., OF, Rice, MN) and Alex Lagadin (Sr., Thunder Bay, ON) each hit a home run.

There were some strong efforts from the mound. Nick Bursik (Soph., P, Woodbury, MN) pitched for eight innings and had seven strikeouts with only one walk. Bobby Tyndall (Soph., P, Ashland, WI) had four strikeouts and only one walk.

With only one win over the weekend, UWS’ record is 7-6.
