Hepokoski won up to $2000 dollars in scholarships, and she encouraged students to enter this year’s contest.
"Through the essay, I was able to express my appreciation of having a Liberal Arts Education and inform others how my education has made me the person I am today. The process of writing the essay helped to build my confidence and skill as a writer," she said. "I was happy to share my voice and gratitude for my Liberal Arts education. In sum, I ask you to consider entering the essay contest for 2010.
This year, the Writing Center is announcing the Fifth Annual Liberal Arts Essay Scholarship Competition, which is sponsored by the University of Wisconsin System Advisory Group on the Liberal Arts.
Dr. Deborah Schlacks, Coordinator of Writing across the Curriculum, encourages everyone to participate in the Liberal Arts Essay Contest. The deadline for the essay is February 1. Essays must be submitted electronically by emailing it to Schlacks at dschlack@uwsuper.edu.
