Women's soccer team sees first win of the season

After losing their first three games of the season, the University of Wisconsin-Superior Yellowjacket Women's Soccer team has been on a roll.
Saturday, September 11 marked their first win of the 2010 season for the Yellowjackets as they roughed up Northland International University 6 to 1.
Mandee Ackason and Andrea McKay both scored two goals and Sarah Johnson and Corrine Lund each added a goal to lead the UW-Superior attack. Julia Carr recorded five saves and only allowed one goal against the 'Jackets. This win improved them to 1-3.
The next game, however was rough for the Yellowjackets as they got pounded by Viterbo University on Sunday, September 12 by a score of 9 to 1. Andrea McKay had the only 'Jacket goal of the game, her third of the season. Both UW-Superior goal keepers struggled as they combined gave up nine goals and had only six saves. After the loss UW-Superior falls to 1-3.
Not letting game results get to them, the Yellowjackets headed to Finlandia University on Wednesday, September 15. Mandee Ackason put up a hat-trick in this game for the Yellowjackets bringing her season total to 5 goals and Corrine Lund (2) added one goal as well. Alisha Ellerton scored the only goal for the Finlandia Lions while the Yellowjackets won 4 to 1. The women's soccer team is now 2-4 on their season after winning two of their last three games.
Coming up next week for the Yellowjackets is a trio of games. ON Friday, September 17 they host Jamestown College Jimmies (0-7) at 2:30 pm. They then host UW-Stevens Point Pointers (6-0) on Saturday, September 18 at 2:00 pm, which will marrk their first conference game of the season. The third game will be on Wednesday, September 22 at 4:00 pm against the University of St. Catherine's (2-2-1).
