The University of Wisconsin-Superior Yellowjackets women's soccer team is off to a rough start to their season, posting a 0-3 record.
Despite the winless start they are still full of fight and show a promising future as they have only one senior and two juniors. The 'Jackets are currently anchored by four sophomores and nine freshmen.
The Yellowjackets lost their first game on Sept. 1 at Bismark State College Mystics 3 to 0. Emily Horner, Lexi Holzer, and Kim Yantzer scored the three goals for the Mystics. Tiffany Zwicke had 4 saves while allowing 1 goal for the jackets and Julia Carr allowed two goals and recorded zero saves for the 'Jackets.
UW-Superior lost their second game of the 2010 season Sept. 4 versus Bethany Lutheran College 4 to 1. Freshmen Nichole Casler scored her first career goal and the only Yellowjackets goal of the game.
On Sept. 6, the Yellowjackets fell to 0-3 with a loss against the University of Minnesota-Morris Cougars 5 to 1. Zoe Bergstrom and Leah Parker led the charge for the Cougars with 2 goals each and Katie Kestner adding another. For the 'Jackets, Freshmen Nichole Casler scored her second career goal.
So far, through three games, freshmen midfielder Nichole Casler from Swartz Creek, Michigan has the only two Yellowjacket goals of the season.
