UWS just couldn't keep up

It was a really close first half. The University of Wisconsin - Superior women's basketball team managed to stay ahead of UW-River Falls for most of the first half; however, it was only by no more than six points.
The ‘Jackets were able to go into the half with a four-point lead with the score at 27-23.
In the first half, Kelsey Thingvold, a junior from Crystal, MN, scored six points to lead the team. The team shot 41.7 percent and 50 percent from the three point line.
Hailey Hart, a sophomore from Osseo, WI, led the team in rebounding with a total of four in the first half. The ‘Jackets played a tight defense, allowing the Falcons to shoot only 31 percent.
In the second half, the ‘Jackets kept it close until there were only ten minutes left. After that, the ‘Jackets just couldn’t stop the hot shooting Falcons, who ran away with the game with a final score of 73-52.
Although it was a rough second half for the ‘Jackets, Thingvold was able to finish the game with ten points to lead the team, while Hart finished with seven rebounds.
Bri Davis, a sophomore from Hermantown, MN, also had a good game, scoring eight points with five rebounds
This game puts the ‘Jackets at 3-2 for the season, with their next game at Platteville on Saturday.
