On Feb. 16 from 2-6 p.m., the University of
Wisconsin – Superior will host more than 55 employers and countless numbers of
job-seeking students in the Yellowjacket Union Great Room.
The Head of the Lakes Job Fair gives students, alumni and community members to meet, network with others and look for seasonal, part-time and full-time work.
“One of the biggest things I stress to students is thinking about internships,” said Coordinator of Career Services Kathy Pykkonen. “It's not too early to start looking.”
Everyone is encouraged to take part in this event so they will know what steps to take after graduating from UW-Superior. The job fair also gives students an opportunity to get their names out there.
“Networking skills are a big thing to have when you're looking for a job,” said Pykkonen.
If students have questions or concerns about planning their career paths, Career Services is there to help with anything they need.
“I think that many students are nervous or scared to ask for help when it comes to planning out their career paths,” said Pykkonen. “You have to remember that Career Services is here to help you with your questions.”
A professional dress code is suggested for everyone who plans on attending the job fair. Free parking will be available throughout campus from 2-6 p.m.. For more information, feel free to stop by Career Services office, YU suite 230, or contact them at career@uwsuper.edu.
