UPDATE: Chancellor search continues

Posted 1/31/2011
by Lucy Roberts, Staff Writer

The Chancellor Search Committee has been hard at work over winter break, and this semester they will continue to move forward in their endeavor to find the next Chancellor of the University of Wisconsin-Superior.

As of mid-November last year, the search committee had been reviewing candidate application files, and on Dec. 15 UW-System Administration approved the candidate pool regarding number and diversity. During late Jan. and early Feb. of 2011 the committee is scheduled to interview semi-finalist candidates. The announcement of finalist candidates is planned for Feb. 18 by UW-System President Kevin Reilly.

A series of on-campus interviews with finalist candidates will take place throughout the beginning of March. These interviews will include presentations by the candidates, which are open to campus and the public and will also allow a chance to share feedback with the search committee. The candidates will then attend a  final interview in late March. The goal of the UW-System Board of Regents is to appoint the new Chancellor at its April 8 meeting in Platteville, Wisc.

Beyond the information in this update, Dr. Martha Einerson, Chair of the Chancellor Search and Screen Committee, says she has nothing new to report. A more detailed outline of the Chancellor Search Committee's upcoming events can be found here.
