"Translucence," the current show in the Kruk gallery, was a challenge issued to Tim Cleary's mostly first semester sculpture students to design pieces that would respond to stark lighting, casting shadows that would be an integral part of each piece. Cleary said, "The work was made with the display conditions in mind, and none of the pieces would work outside of the controlled conditions" of the gallery's special lighting. That said, there is an almost underwater feeling in the exhibit, with each piece standing alone in a pool of light. Please stop in and see How the students solved the challenge!
