Tough road trip for the 'Jackets

Saturday the University of Wisconsin - Superior women’s basketball team traveled to UW-Stevens point to face the Pointers.
The Jackets struggled in the first half falling behind by twenty going into the half with the score 15-35.
UWS scoring was led by Anna Peterson, junior from Osseo, WI, and Kelsey Thingvold, junior from Crystal, MN. Both ladies had four points apiece. Kailee McDonald, freshman from Cambridge, MN, led the team in rebounds the first half with three.
The Jackets shot only 28.6% in the first half and only making one three out of seven attempts.
The second half didn’t look good for UWS, falling all the way to trailing by 29. However, they did manage to fight back and get within sixteen at final with the score 50-66.
Thingvold led the team in the second half with five more points to put her at nine for the game. Bri Davis, sophomore from Hermantown, MN led the team in rebounds with four.
UWS shot better in the second half with 33.3% and did hit three of their nine threes.
It was a tough road trip for the Jackets. After Saturday’s game the UWS women’s Basketball record for the season is 7-12 headed into their next conference game against UW-LaCrosse Saturday Feb. 6th in Superior.
