Worried about finals? Worried about worrying about finals? Here are some ways to ease your worried mind.

Student Health and Counseling Services will be hosting events in the Yellowjacket Union and the Markovich Wellness Center on Dec. 7 - 9 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. each day, including “Back to Kindergarten Days” and “Zen Gardens.” And for your worried necks and shoulders, massage therapists will be giving free chair massages on Dec. 7 in the YU and on Dec. 9th in the MWC.

If you can't make it to the de-stressing events, Student Health and Counseling Services offers up a few tips to keep stress levels low.

  • Form a study group. Studying with friends can be a great help. Explaining a problem to someone else can help make it clearer, and your friends probably have tips on how to remember those little details that are evading you.
  • Making a study plan is helpful. It gives you a clear idea of what you need to do, and it helps bolster a sense of being in control.
  • Study your least favorite subject first. You won't put it off till it's too late, and by leaving your favorite subject till the last, you have a reward built in to your plan.
  • Take breaks. Get up and walk around every hour or so. Do a quick ten jumping jacks, if you can do it without disturbing other people's studies. Push-ups work too, by exercising core muscles and getting the blood flowing.
  • Listen to your mother: eat real food and drink enough water.
  • And last but not least, make sure you schedule in enough sleep.
