As Fall for UWS-Family Weekend was in full swing, both UW-Superior soccer teams hosted UW-Platteville for students and their families to watch.
The men’s team had a full weekend with it being parent’s night on Saturday, as well as it being alumni weekend. Although they played tough against Platteville, the ‘Jackets fell in a close game to the Pioneers 1-0. They have shown great improvement this year, and they have been playing much better than their 4-5-1 record shows.
The Lady ‘Jackets, on the other hand, continued their tough season by losing to the Pioneers 8-0. This is their 9th shutout loss of their 11 games this season, and their record fell to 1-10 on the year. The WIAC is tough, but it may be a little harder as they are going through a rebuilding stage of the program with 17 of their 19 players being freshman or sophomores. They are improving game by game and are showing promise as the season goes on.
Both teams will look to bounce back on Tuesday as they head across the border to Moorhead, MN to face Concordia College. They will get back to conference play when they travel to UW-Oshkosh on Saturday.
