The Student Government Association is running close to full capacity after Monday night's appointments.

Freshman Cody Chaffee has stepped up to fill the senator at large position left vacant after the resignation of  Minhyuk Oh. Brittney Kemi moved into the position of Vice-Director of Communications and Public Relations that has been vacant this term. Finally, Jeff Anderson resigned his position as Vice-Director of SUFAC (Segregated University Funds Allocation Committee) to take the position of Vice President of SGA. This substantial gain is being somewhat offset by the graduation of Senator Mari Henriquez at the end of this term. Congratulations to all.

Director Marshall Hansbury of SUFAC reviewed the new standards for SUFAC funding of student organizations which set in place limits for funding in categories ranging from publicity and promotion to travel and food expenses. The senators and executive cabinet made minor changes to the document, primarily to clarify wording, and the guidelines were approved by a show of hands, 9 for, none against, two abstaining.

Dr. Steve Rosenberg of the Undergraduate Academic Affairs Council reported on the committee's work on reforming the qualifications for a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science degree. There is no prevailing standard across either the University of Wisconsin system or across the country. The requirements for the two degrees put emphasis on different parts of the curriculum, causing imbalances that the UAAC hopes to redress.
