“Brief” would be the best description of the Student Government Association meeting on Monday.
The first topic on the agenda was a discussion of the student government election results, in which Senators Chang and Borra were elected to the positions of president and vice-president, respectively.
“I'm so excited for you!” was President Duffy's congratulatory message for Senator Borra on her election to the position of vice-president. There remain open one Communications Department senator and one Business Department senator positions to be filled. Director Dhital had questions about the Business department senator position, and was told that the ballots would be reviewed.
Constitutional amendments for SUFAC were reviewed and discussed. Changes include raising the limit on emergency funding requests from $2,500 up to $5,000. Also discussed was implementing a program to audit student organizations, to ensure money is being spent on legitimate items, and that capital items are accounted for. These audit procedures would be the responsibility of the Vice-Director of SUFAC.
Director Durfee announced that she had collected quite a few comments from students on Post-It notes, and they were on display in the SGA office for the senators to look through.
