RAGE night not all the rage

This weekend, unfortunately, RAGE night was not all the rage. Few people came, whether it was because they were genuinely unable to attend, because RAGE was poorly advertised, or because people didn’t want to spend their Friday night in the gym (I can’t imagine why not).
They were missing out. First, there was the ping pong tournament. This weekend’s ping pong tournament was pretty intense. Bao Peng won by a landslide. As a result, he was awarded an intramural t-shirt (and eternal glory).
Another option was gaming. Videogamers went head-to-head in Halo 3 and Super Smash Brothers on the Wii and the X-box. RAGE night is a great opportunity to flaunt yo mad skillz and compare with a diverse population of newbs that you would normally never have the privilege of pwning.
In addition, the swimming pool and the climbing wall were open late – the climbing wall was open particularly late. Everyone had left the main lobby, the doors were locked, and the lights were all turned off by the time the last climber was finished.
While everyone else was gaming, swimming and ping-ponging, an intense game of add-on was going on at the wall. Add-on is a bouldering game in which one person starts with their hands on specific holds. Then another person starts in the same spot and adds one. It keeps going like that until someone falls, basically.
This game was particularly intense because the sequence managed to wind itself around the column and across the chimney and ended with two round, impossible-to-grip holds close to the ground. Although the rest of RAGE got done with early, the climbing wall closed on schedule with plans to go to Perkins.
So, although RAGE was small in numbers, it was big in fun. Hopefully next time more people will come and it will be even more entertaining.
