Marcus Helland is this week’s Stinger Player of the Week. Helland is a 6’6” senior forward on the University of Wisconsin-Superior Yellowjacket men’s basketball team. He is originally from Baldwin, Wisc. and prior to transferring to UW-Superior he also played college ball at the University of Minnesota-Duluth.
“I chose to come to UWS because of the people I already knew that were on the team,” Helland said. “I felt like it was a growing program and I wanted to be a part of it along with the guys I already knew.”
He feels honored and that thankful to have received the award.
“I started playing basketball as long ago as i can remember. I think it was the 3rd grade when we started playing organized basketball in school, Helland said.
