Because the University administration strongly supports the rights of students to vote, it has developed a new university identification card which will include the student's picture, signature, and expiration date to fulfill the requirements of the new law. Vicki Hajewski, Vice Chancellor of Student Life, presented the new student voter ID to members of SGA at a recent meeting. Hajewski said that she thought students would still have to provide a fee statement to prove that they were currently enrolled. Poll locations would be provided with rosters of students living in the residence halls. Students living off campus would probably be required to bring a utility bill or some other proof of mailing address. Ms. Hajewski was unsure if there would be a charge to get the new ID cards; if there is one, it will be minimal.
