The University of Wisconsin-Superior men’s soccer team continues to impress with wins in their past two games, bringing their record over the last four games to 3-0-1 and their season total to 6-2-1.
On Fri., Sept. 24, the Yellowjackets hosted Upper Iowa University. In this tough matchup, UW-Superior was able to edge out Upper Iowa 1 to 0 with a goal by Thomas Shuldheisz at the 37:47 of the first half. That was Shuldheisz’s fourth goal of the season, which ties him for the team lead with Ben Royce.
The ‘Jackets next traveled to Hancock, Mich. on Wed., Sept. 29. This marked their conference opener and turned out to be a good one as they ousted the Finlandia Lions 9 to 0. As goals came a plenty, the wealth was spread as seven different Jackets scored goals with the charge led by Alex Young and Dan Warnke who each had two goals in the game.
Upcoming for the ‘Jackets is a home match up verse Augsburg College (7-2-1) on Sat., Oct. 2 at 2:00 p.m. and a trip to Hamline University to take on the 4-4 Pipers at 4:00 p.m. on Wed., Nov. 6.
