He has been roaming the UWS campus since Fall of 2006, has been very involved on campus, and is the student speaker at spring commencement on May 21st. He is Mr. Saroj Dhital. Let's get to know Saroj.

What were your first thoughts when you found out you were chosen to speak at commencement?
I was happy, obviously. I've wanted to be the speaker at commencement ever since my first year here. My friend was the speaker at the first commencement I went to at UWS, and I have wanted to do it ever since then.

Do you have your speech written already?
Yes, for the most part. Tammy Fanning and Martha Einerson made sure I had it completed early. I still need to do some editing, though.

Where are you from?
I am from Nepal.

What is your major?
I am double majoring in Economics and Mathematics.

What are your plans for after graduation?
This summer I will be doing some research for one of my professors, and then in July/August I will be joining the Economics PhD program at Washington University in St. Louis.

What will you miss the most about life at UWS?
The friends, people, and activities. Also, the faculty and students are close here, and I don't know if it will be like that at Washington University.

What is your favorite memory from UWS?
Well, I wouldn't say this is a favorite memory, but it definitely is one of the stupidest things I've done. When I was the president of the WSA, I accidentally planned and scheduled a paint ball activity for the same day as a SUFAC hearing. I was the SUFAC director. I was so excited about doing paint ball for the first time, and I couldn't even go!

What is your dream job?
I want to be a researcher for the UN, and then I would like to go back to Nepal and be the prime minister and help develop my country.

What was your favorite class at UWS?
All of the Economics classes. They are what helped me decide to be an Economics major.

What advice would you give to someone just starting their college career?
Get involved. It helps to know what's going on on campus and helps with getting to know people. If you're not involved, you know what's going on. Also, be informed with your campus community, community, and the world.
