Lazer Tag lights up YU
The Yellowjacket Union Great Room was transformed into a game room Friday night when the Yellowjacket Activities Crew sponsored Lazer Tag, allowing students to come and relieve some first-week stress, free of charge.
This is not the first year YAC has sponsored Lazer Tag. Andrew Kirov, a member of YAC, says that they've done it for at least the past two years, possibly more. This year they booked 3Z Company out of St. Cloud to come and show UWS students how it's done. Inside the Great Room, large inflatable barriers offered protection from enemy fire while students ducked, rolled, and slid across the floor. There were some very slick moves; in fact, sophomore Zach Solofra says he has had military training. When asked if he thought his team would win, he felt confident. "Guaranteed," he said. "I've played [laser tag] a couple of times...not annually or anything." Other students had never played before. Ahnaf Shadman, a freshman at UWS, says he enjoys laser tag. "It's good!" he said cheerfully. "I don't like getting 'killed', but it's good!" YAC's next event, Football Frenzy Finale, is on Thursday, February 5. |
