'Jackets struggle against Pioneers

The University of Wisconsin - Superior women’s basketball team just couldn’t keep up with the UW-Platteville Pioneers on Saturday afternoon, losing 69-86.
The Yellowjackets started off the game strong, leading the first four minutes of the game, but then the Pioneers took over and led the rest of the first half.
The ‘Jackets’ offense was led by Katie Zavodny, a sophomore from Boyceville, WI, who had seven points
She was followed by Kelsey Thingvold, a junior from Crystal, MN, who had six points in the first half.
Hailey Hart, a sophomore from Osseo, WI, dominated the board with rebounds. She finished the first half with seven.
The Yellowjackets played a good defense during the first half, only allowing the Pioneers to shoot 36.4 percent. However, they went into halftime down by six points, with a score of 28-34.
The ‘Jackets shot a great second half with a shooting percentage of 56.5 percent and 60 percent from the three point line.
Connie Urmanski, a freshman from Edgar, WI, had a hot hand, scoring ten points. Urmanski and Thingvold both finished with twelve points.
Hart and Anna Peterson, a junior from Osseo, WI, both finished with eleven points apiece. Hart also finished the game with ten rebounds to give her a double double.
