Las Vegas illusionist Garry Carson was on hand to give a performance of his Reality Magic Show in Thorpe Langley Auditorium on April 7 as part of a fundraiser for the University of Wisconsin-Superior women’s basketball team.

A three-fourths-full auditorium was wowed and delighted early and often by Carson’s show, which included acts such as a girl lying on a levitating table, an egg that seemingly disappeared and reappeared from a small bag, and many more. Near the end of the show, both Carson and Mulhern took a few moments to express appreciation and gratitude for the attendees and stating that all proceeds from the show are going into UWS women’s basketball.

“This event is going to raise money for the women’s basketball team as well as UWS athletics in general,” said freshman basketball player Stephanie Lindahl before the show began.

“It’s [not only] a fundraiser for the women’s basketball team, [but] it’s also a great event for entertainment. We brought [Carson] in from Las Vegas – it’s inexpensive and accessible,” added women’s basketball head coach Don Mulhern.

Expectations were also high before the show started. Lindahl succinctly described the expectations for the show: “A lot of fun,” and Carson did not appear to disappoint.
