Men's hockey

The men's hockey team, coming off a 1-1 record last week, dominated this weekend over St. Johns and Concordia.

During the St. Johns game the Yellowjackets fell behind 1-0 early in the first perioid, only to score three straight goals on the way to a 3-2 victory. Freshman Drew Strandber, a true star of the game, made 25 saves for the 'Jackets.

They would go on in the next game versus Concordia to win 2-0, a no-contest vicotry, to put the 'Jackets at a 3-1 record on their season. Next week they go on to play Marian University in Fond du Lac, WI

Women's hockey

The women’s hockey team, coming into the season fresh off a exhibition loss, were looking for victories this weekend in two games against Concordia College.

In the first game on Friday the scoreboard would remain 0-0 until well into the third period, where Concordia would score the first and second goals of the game. The ‘Jackets would come right back with a goal, but another by Concordia would seal the deal and they would take the game 3-1.

The game on Saturday shaped up to be similar as Concordia went on to score the first goal in the first period, yet the ‘Jackets would rally back, scoring a goal in the first, followed by three goals in the second and another in the third. Concordia conversely scored another goal in the second period, but the ‘Jackets would not be stopped on the path to a 5-2 victory over the Concordia Cobbers, putting the ‘Jackets at a 1-1 record on the season.
