Hosts Tim Berg and Jordan Appicelli check a board
More than 100 students gathered in the RSC Snack Bar Wednesday night for a friendly game of Grocery Bingo.
As the title suggests, prizes for those achieving a Bingo were food. T-shirts, laundry detergent and dyer sheets were also items to choose from on the prize table.
“We wanted to have stuff that helps students get the new school year started,” said Student Leadership Coordinator Ann Miller. “Everything is non-perishable and very residence hall friendly.”
Extra chairs had to be brought in and more Bingo chips had to be made due to the unexpected crowd. Several rounds of Bingo were played until all of the prizes had been selected.
“I was happy to see a lot of the freshman and new people come out and participate,” said co-host Tim Berg. “I think it is important to show that there is some simple camaraderie among students.”
He and Jordan Appicelli hosted the very first Grocery Bingo event during Welcome Back Week for Spring Semester 2009, which 60-70 students attended.
This event was sponsored by the Rothwell Student Center.
