Cross country team competes in Griak Invitational

The UW-Superior men’s and women’s cross country teams competed in the prestigious Roy Griak Invitational on September 26, finishing in 22nd and 32nd place, respectively.
The women were lead by senior Jenna Halverson, who finished in a time of 25 minutes and 54 seconds which landed her in 137th place.
Junior Natasha Hinzmann crossed the line next for the Yellowjackets in 175th. Following Halverson and Hinzmann was junior Cassey Hoffmann in 211th, freshman Stacie Kirchoff in 237th and freshman Amy Hasbargen rounded out the UW-Superior scoring finishing 241st.
Freshman Scott Behling was the first Yellowjacket and 37th runner overall to complete the course with a time of 26 minutes and 57 seconds.
Junior Jason Lindelof finished just over a minute behind Behling in 114th place. Sophomore Jordan Peterson placed 124th, followed by junior Seth Neumann in 154th, junior Taylor Gumbos in 177th, and freshman Monte Stuart in 213th out of 370 runners.
The men and women will be back in action on October 2 at the Blugold Open in Colfax, WI.
