Good start for first season as WIAC team

The University of Wisconsin-Superior men's soccer team is off to a 2-1 start to the season. This is important for the team as this season marks the first year it has been recognized as a Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference sport.
This UW-Superior squad is set for an interesting season as the experience and/or lack of experience is balanced. The team is set with seven seniors and sex juniors pulling the load, but also feature six sophomores and seven freshmen.
The Yellowjackets won their first game on the road against the Bethel University Royals 2 to 0 on Sept. 1. Aaron Bresser (1) and Ben Royce (1) scored the two goals for UW-Superior.
The Yellowjackets followed that win with another one on Sept. 4 as they defended their own grass on their home opener against the Concordia University Falcons 2 to 0. Thomas Shuldheisz (1) and Richard Chewgin (1) scored for the 'Jackets.
Upcoming games for the men's soccer team are on Saturday, Sept. 11 at 4:00pm against St. Mary's University (2-2), Sunday, Sept. 12 at 3:00pm at Viterbo University (1-4) and on Wednesday, Sept. 15 at 4:00pm versus the University of St. Thomas Tommies (2-1).
