The local food shelf will soon receive a donation of over three hundred food items collected during a food drive put on by the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and UWS student-athletes.

The drive ran from April 6th through the 13th.  Student-athletes dropped off blue bags throughout offices and buildings on campus for donations to be collected in.  There was also as a drop box in the Health and Wellness Center.

UWS Women’s Volleyball Coach Lynne Deadrick helped organize the food drive.  “We collected something like 376 items.”  Deadrick says SAAC along with UWS student-athletes, puts on a food drive once a year.  “Last year we coordinated with other student organizations and we had one right before Christmas.”  Deadrick says although last year’s drive turned out more donations, she says every little bit helps.  “I’m sure any donation will be greatly appreciated.”
