There was a small crowd at this third open mic in Rothwell Student Center Thurs., Nov. 19. By the 8 p.m. start with the first act, only a dozen performers signed up to entertain.
Joe Cadotte graced the crowd with the first performance of the night. His talent as a singer/song writer made him a hit on the stage.
By the time the second act was on the way, the crowd had doubled in size. Reg Paulson took to comedy with his stand-up routine and had a positive response from the onlookers, as did Crystal, who followed Reg with a poem and standup comedy.
Buzz, the UWS mascot made a surprise appearance and busted a move that hyped up the crowd.
Jin Young Wong pleased the audience with two songs, one which was sungin Korean.
Alicia Lenius spoke a touching poem that seemed to move the students.
Mark Enfield sang the blues after a Jim Morrison poem reading.
Dong Woo Kwon sang two powerful songs to the crowd, the first in Korean.
There were other poetry recitations and singing as the open mic’s attraction of talent got better and better.
