Familiar E-Hive Gets a Facelift

The E-Hive software that students and faculty have grown familiar with is soon to change.

A software update is planned to begin on July 10. The E-Hive system will be down through July 12, and the new software is expected to be up and running by July 13.

Beyond a few systematic and aesthetic changes, students will get an added feature to their E-Hive account.

The current wish list function, used to create a list of classes a student plans to take in the future semester, will be replaced with a new tool called “The Planner.”

“This will make the advisement process a little more efficient so some quality time can be spend talking to students about their future,” said John Rink, UW-Superior’s IS Technical Services Senior.

The new feature will allow students to organize their class schedule for their entire college career and uses the student’s progress report to do so. The Planner shows students when a class is typically offered during the school year, effectively allowing students to avoid unexpected problems with class scheduling.

Faculty will be able to view the planner that students set up. Advisors can anticipate any areas of discussion by analyzing the student’s planner pre-appointment.

“This will make the advisement process a little more efficient so some quality time can be spend talking to students about their future,” said John Rink, UW-Superior’s IS Technical Services Senior.

For students and faculty wanting to learn more about the new E-Hive software, an information session and demonstration will be held on Wednesday, May 6 in the Rothwell Student Center room 21. The sessions with start at 9 a.m. and will run every half hour between 9 a.m., 11 a.m., 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.
