Black out the stands

Story by Alyssa Palmer
Yellowjacket fans dressed in black on Thursday night to disarm their school rivals, the St. Scholastica Saints.
The spirit started before the game at a tailgate party in the Yellowjacket Union. The BBQ Club gave away free brats and hotdogs and YAC set up a table for students to create a sign for the game. Fewer than 20 students made it to the tailgate. However, the small pre-party did not predict the loyalty of fans that made it out to Wessman.
Before the game, fans were invited to booths for free face painting, Buzz tattoos, and more banner making. Sponsored by the Specialty Programming Committee by Residence Life, students took advantage of the activities. The stands were full of black shirts, tattooed faces, and random cheer signs scrawled with the words "Go Jackets!".
The next opportunity for fans to cheer on their men’s hockey team is February 3, and again on February 4, where they can support local troops by wearing camouflage. Go Jackets!
