Women's

This week’s Women’s Athlete of the Week goes to sophomore guard Katie Zavodny of Boyceville, WI.

On Wednesday night against Northwestern College, she scored 13 points and added 4 rebounds and had a team high with 4 assists, leading the ‘Jackets to a 72-66 win.

On Saturday against conference opponent UW-Whitewater, she had team highs in points (15) and rebounds (6), and added 3 assists in an 86-65 loss to the Warhawks.

Zavodny is averaging 9 points a game, and leads the team with just over 3 assists per game.

Men's

This week’s Men’s Athlete of the Week is basketball player Jake Smith (jr., Rhinelander, WI).

On Wednesday night against Northwestern, he scored a game high of 22 points on 9-13 shooting, and added 5 assists and 4 rebounds to lead the ‘Jackets to a 73-64 win.

On Saturday against UW-Whitewater, he scored a team high of 16 points and had 3 rebounds and 3 assists in a 93-72 loss.

Smith is averaging 21 points and just under 7 rebounds a game, which leads UWS in both categories.
