Classes are well underway as we enter our third week of classes here on the campus of UW-Superior. The initial awkwardness and pre-first-day of class jitters should be gone as the anxiety of a first test or assignment creeps in to take its place. Oh joy. Despite some moaning and groaning, being back in the routine of class, work, practices, meetings, and what-have-you is a comfort for many of us. Comfort in routine and the busy-ness of the school year.

As for our student organization, Stinger Media, this year is one of transition. As you’ve noticed, we now have a website. Instead of printing a paper every two weeks, this site will serve as our main publication. Being online provides us with the opportunity to save money on printing costs, produce fresh news, and use multiple media. You can expect to encounter daily updates and coverage of campus events on here. It is our hope that you will make regular stops at our site; check it as you check your Facebook account.

We will have one tangible publication this semester. In November we will be publishing a magazine. Within the 24+ pages there will be feature stories, investigative reporting, many photographs, hopefully some creative essays and poems, and maybe even some recipes.

Thank you for stopping and don’t hesitate to submit a letter to the editor or leave a comment.

Enjoy!
